The Kalagadi logistics value chain starts at the mine site in the Northern Cape where manganese ore is moved efficiently and safely by rail. Rail remains the backbone of Kalagadi’s outbound logistics strategy, ensuring bulk volumes are transported reliably over long distances while maintaining cost discipline and operational control. From the mine, material is railed directly to Port Elizabeth, linking inland production to international export corridors.
Upon arrival in Port Elizabeth, the material is delivered to our dedicated warehouse and stockholding facilities. These facilities serve as a critical buffer in the supply chain, allowing us to safely store product, manage quality and align dispatch volumes with vessel schedules. Stockholding at the coast ensures continuity of supply and reduces risks related to berthing delays or cargo depletion.
Upon vessel's arrival, logistics trucks transport material from the warehouse to the harbour for loading and onward shipment to our customers. The entire value chain is executed with strict attention to timing, cost, compliance and safety, ensuring contractual obligations are met without compromise.
