Kalagadi's Open Pit operations are a key component of the mine's long-term growth and production strategy. Open pit development commenced in October 2024 with a strategic operating partner. Within 13 months, the operation successfully exposed a manganese ore block, achieving readiness for production. The inaugural open pit blast on 7 November 2025 marked the formal transition from development into active production. This milestone enabled direct ore access, strengthened operational flexibility, and positioned the business for sustained growth. The open pit has a planned life-of-mine of approximately 15 years, supported by five planned pushbacks designed to optimise resource recovery and long-term value creation. Kalagadi operates an integrated mining model, combining open pit and underground mining to maximise resource extraction and overall production capacity. The Open Pit operation strengthens Kalagadi's production base while supporting disciplined, sustainable growth aligned with the company's commitment to black women ownership.
